A rather lengthy stopover (7
hours) was taken up by wandering, window shopping at the endless duty-free
shops, eating, planning the tour, catching up and more wandering.
Wow did I speak too soon regarding the children; the babies on this flight had
a good old scream from time to time from the time they boarded till getting off
in Lyon. The little cherubs were all around me, even one little lovely sitting
directly behind, a really good position to kick the living daylights out of the
back of my seat each time he became restless. I fantasied how I was going to
fit the little darling down the plane’s rather powerful and noisy flush toilet.
In the meantime, poor Bob had to endure a complimentary upgrade to Business Class,
for the whole leg. The things that this bloke does for the team are just
amazing; how does he cope?
We all eventually arrived safely in Lyon without one cherub being harmed in the
making of this blog. Arrived on time and by 2030h we had collected our bikes
and luggage and secured the only Maxi-cab in the taxi queue. He took some time
to get his nav equipment to recognise the B&B but he got there; €95 later.
Worth every cent considering we were in the B&B in quick time.
As the rooms weren’t ready (they had the wrong date of arrival down) we spent about an hour putting the bikes back together. As soon as the room was ready, I crashed. We’ll explore Lyon tomorrow.
