Day 3: Tue 3 Sep – Lyon

Fine and mainly sunny, 14 - 25deg
Ride: 28km

Great B&B we’re staying at, two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen / dining room, (so Le Chef (Bob) may find himself with a job tonight) secure courtyard for the bikes and a five-minute stroll to a bakery to die for. Had a lovely fresh ham and salad roll and a croissant for brekky. Bob did some final assembly on his bike, and we were ready to ride.

And ride we did, along the Seine (Saone) River into Lyon, till we reached the confluence of the Seine and Rhône. Lots of stops to take in the views or capture the moment with some pixels. As we got closer to the city centre, we decided to initiate the first phase of our plan for the Tour. So, with me standing guard on the bikes Bob lined up at the Railway Station to book our train ride to the West coast. After considering many options we had decided to catch the train to Nantes (which is over near the West Coast) and ride back to Lyon.
